Call for Submissions

0

(PRWEB) April 14, 2005

Heliand Publishing is issuing a call for submissions for short-stories in five specific Genres: Literary Fantasy, Modern Mythology, Religious/Spiritual Literature, Medieval Literature and Psychological Literature.

Heliand Publishing is an online publishing company. Our inspiration for starting this publishing company was to take the Fantasy genre to the next level of literature. There are many great narratives within the fantasy genre but few are considered to be true literature. There is fantasy literature being produced, but we want to development a lot more of this literature within the fantasy genre.

As we continued to develop and launch Heliand Publishing, we began to be interested in other genres relating to Fantasy. We immediately thought of medieval literature which led to modern mythology which led to religious/spiritual literature which led to psychological literature. We felt that these five genres were so closely related that we could not publish one without the other.

Heliand Publishing is in the process of collecting short-stories that we will post on the web for free. Heliand Publishing will be collecting work from now until the end of September 2005. At that time we will launch a more complete website with many authors’ original work.

Our hope is to encourage the writing of short-stories and eventually novels in these five genres. Our website will allow authors to have their work available for others to read and thus they will get their names known in the writing world. Heliand Publishing will produce a collection of the most popular short stories that have been posted on the web in a book form in Spring 2006. This will be the first of many different books that will be published.

Submission deadline is September 30, 2005. Visit www.heliandpublishing.com for instructions and submission forms.

“Literatures of the African Diaspora” Is Released

0

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) March 11, 2004

“Sometimes an editor just knows when he comes across a book that needs to be published” were the words that publisher Robert L. Giron said recently when asked about the new release entitled Literatures of the African Diaspora by Yemi D. Ogunyemi.

What makes Literatures of the African Diaspora special is Dr. Ogunyemi’s premise for the book and the manner in which he presents his case that all literatures of the world can find their root in the literatures of Africa in some form or another. In a very tightly written book, Dr. Ogunyemi crosses the globe and finds threads of the African Diaspora across the continents and in world literatures such that one will never think about the concept of a national literature in the same light.

As Dr. Joshua ‘Kunle Awosan of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth states “Dr. Yemi Ogunyemi’s Literatures of the Diaspora is as much rich in its diasporic coverage as it is in its periodized, contextual focus, fascinatingly mirroring a wide variety of literatures across the Atlantic. It, indeed, proves that African literatures are, without mincing words, a fountainhead of literary divergence.”

Literatures of the African Diaspora is now available.

Libraries and/or departments can order books from Ingram Book Company at 800.937.8000 or from the Gival Press fulfillment center at 800.247.6553.

Individual copies can be ordered from Gival Press at 877.727.5764 or via the Internet at Booksurge.com; Amazon.com; and BN.com.

Literature Stand Displays

0

A Literature Stand or literature display is an effective tool for any trade show booth or retail environment. A literature stand display can hold individual sheets of literature, magazines, brochures or any valuable literature that needs to be displayed. Literature stands also take up little space so you are sure to have a place for one or two in your trade show display area or retail environment. There are many styles of literature displays on the market today. Take some time to review all of your options and choose what’s right for you.

Folding or Collapsible – Literature Stand Displays
Folding literature stands are very popular with trade show exhibitors because of the compact feature they all have in common.  Folding literature stands are built to collapse into a fold-away size for easy storage and transportation. Another great feature is the ability to keep your literature inside the literature stand while in transport. Leave your literature inside the stand, slip the stand into its case and you’re ready to go. Now that’s real convenience!

Modular Literature Displays
A modular literature stand breaks out into several parts or lays flat into a case when not in use. But when it is in use it will be a show stopper for any trade show booth or business location. The modular type literature stand display is often a bit heavier than some of the other types of literature stands but are still considered portable.

Roll up Literature Stand Display
The most lightweight full size literature stand is the mesh roll up literature stand. The mesh literature stand rolls up to a very small size and takes up very little space in travel or storage. Yet when rolled out to full size this literature stand can display 8 pockets for literature, brochures or magazines.

Table Top Literature or Brochure Holder
Table top literature displays are always a great addition at a trade show or a retail setting. Very handy and taking up very little space a brochure holder can be placed almost anywhere and present your literature in a very stylish way.

Literature Display – plus Podium
When limited on space no need to choose between a literature stand and a podium. You can get the two together with a Triplex Podium Literature Display. This literature stand/podium will hold three pockets of literature and pull up to the height of a podium with a wooden top big enough to place a computer on.

Information Centers
Another type of literature display where you get a two-for-one deal is called an information center. These unique literature displays have an adjustable shelf that will hold your literature and also give you a large frame to hold a 22″x28″x.25″ sign or graphic.

There are many types of literature stand displays available on the market today that will compliment your marketing display and support your sales or exhibit team. By naming a few categories we hope to give you a head start on your journey of Literature Display shopping.
